As we approach our last meeting of the year, this chapter year sure has been a wild ride! From Covid, to a collapsing economy, to product/material shortages, to what appears to be a recovery of all of the above. Our last meeting topic should touch on all of that and likely will affect most of us. Randy Knibbe of Padnos will be talking about “The Current State of the Scrap Industry”. This will of course take place at St. James Restaurant in Avilla, IN as previously announced and this will also be our annual Past Chairman’s Night. All Past Chairman are invited and will receive a free dinner!
I would like to thank all that attended our last meeting in Warsaw. It was very well attended and Rich McNeely put on an informative, interesting talk. I must also send my apologies to Hill & Griffith who was the “Company of the Night” sponsoring the Happy Hour! I guess I was a little rusty from the lack of meetings and neglected to mention them. All foundry people appreciate that chance to unwind at the end of the day! Thanks again Hill & Griffith!
A few dates to remember:
Next Chapter Meeting: May 10, 2021
Golf Outing Scholarship Applications: Due May 5, 2021
NIAFS Golf Outing: July 17, 2021
There is an update on the raffle. The items for the raffle should be announced at any time and tickets will be available shortly thereafter. We hope this will be before our May meeting but may be at our May meeting. The drawing for the raffle will be held at the golf outing in July. Stay tuned for that announcement and do not forget scholarship applications are due May 5th.
We will be voting on our new board for 2021-2022 at this meeting as well! Anyone who is interested should reach out to me ASAP. We hope to see a large group for the great food, exciting talk and history of our chapter. See you all in May at St. James Restaurant!
